Your character

Coats of arms and notice boards

Compose your own coat of arms - or your faction's - and see it on your letters, your walls and your banners. The notice boards on the walls are the staff's.

Your coat of arms

  1. Open the heralds' window

/crest (also /arms) for your own arms, /crest faction or the faction window for your faction's.

  2. Start from the realm's arms

The first tab, Arms of the realm, holds 20 arms as the game's own shields and tabards bear them - the Kingdom of Bohemia, Bergow, Lipá, Písek, Prague, Kuttenberg, Sigismund, Zaviš, the Teutonic Order, the tourney shields and more. One click puts them on your shield: seal them as they are, or change what you like first.

  3. Compose

Choose the field's tincture, a division and its second tincture, an ordinary, then a charge, its tincture and how many (1 to 3). The shield is drawn live as you choose; Draw at random deals you a new one.

  4. Seal them

Seal these arms. The window warns when the rule of tincture is broken - metal on metal or colour on colour reads poorly from afar - but leaves the choice to you.

PartThe choice
Tincturesor, argent, gules, azure, vert, sable, purpure, ermine - the metals (or, argent), the colours and the fur (ermine).
Divisionsnone, per pale, per fess, per bend, per bend sinister, quarterly, per chevron, per saltire, gyronny.
Ordinariesnone, a chief, a fess, a pale, a bend, a chevron, a cross, a saltire, a bordure.
Charges29 of them: lion, eagle, griffin, dragon, boar, stag, wolf, bear, fish, cross, mullet (star), fleur-de-lis, key, sword, axe, hammer, tower, crown, horseshoe, wheel, rose, garb (wheat sheaf), hand, tree, bell, crescent, double cross, triskelion, raven.

Where your arms are seen

  • Your letters: the wax of an opened letter is pressed with the sender's arms.
  • Your faction: its arms head the faction window, and fly on the banners of the towns it holds.
  • The account site: your character's sheet shows its arms beside its deeds.

Rather not see them? Settings (F8) > Chat & names > Show boards and crests off: the notice boards, signs, painted words, shop signs, banners and shields of arms on the buildings are no longer drawn in your game - the market's prices and the town's news stay.
