Factions and power
Factions
Five factions hold the realm from the first day, each with six ranks, wages and a treasury. You may found your own.
| Faction | Kind | Ranks, lowest to highest | |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Bailiff's Watch | law | Night Watchman · Guardsman · Catchpole · Gate Sergeant · Watch Captain · Deputy Bailiff | The king's bailiff keeps the peace from the town hall. Its recruiter: Sergeant Hruby, in the fortress yard of Suchdol. |
| The Blacksmiths' Guild | guild | Apprentice · Journeyman · Master · Sworn Master · Guild Elder · Guildmaster | Sworn masters of hammer and anvil. Recruiter: Master Smith Ota, at the forge of Suchdol. |
| The Miners' Brotherhood of St Barbara | guild | Haulier · Hewer · Journeyman Miner · Foreman · Steiger · Mine Master | The men of the silver pits. Recruiter: Foreman Havel, at the Miskowitz pits. |
| The Parish of St James | church | Acolyte · Sexton · Clerk · Chaplain · Preacher · Parish Priest | Baptises, marries, buries, gives alms - and absolves. Recruiter: Brother Matej, at the church of Suchdol. |
| The Hoprink Underground | underworld | Lookout · Cutpurse · Footpad · Fence · Smuggler Captain · Master of the Underground | Cutpurses, fences and smugglers. Its recruiter does not stand on any map: ask in the alleys of Suchdol village. |
Belonging to one
Talk to a faction's recruiter and ask to join: its leaders are told, and one of them takes you in. Members talk in their own chat (/f), are paid their rank's wage every payday from the coffers, and see the faction's message of the day. F2 > My faction has everything.
Leading one
The top two ranks lead: they take people in and out, promote and demote, rename the ranks, set each rank's wage (up to 120 a payday), set the message of the day, draw from the coffers, buy businesses and houses for the faction, and claim towns.
Founding your own
F2 > My faction (while you belong to none) > Found my own faction: 500 groschen from your purse. Choose its kind - a guild, a criminal band, a noble house, a church or any other fellowship - its short name and its full name, and you lead it from the top rank. Each kind comes with ranks of its own (a noble house runs from servant to the head of the house), which you may rename.
