Rooms at the inn
Every tavern lets rooms: 20 numbered rooms, and the real rooms upstairs that some inns have. A room is a home of your own for less than a house - a bed, a chest, and a door you choose who passes.
- Rent one
Talk to the innkeeper > Rooms (or
/roomsat the inn): the rooms show as a row of doors - free, taken, yours. A numbered room costs a deposit of 250 groschen, which keeps it its first week, then about 300 a week; a real room upstairs 500, then about 600. The deposit comes from your purse, else your account. One room a character. - Go in
A numbered room: the innkeeper's window > Enter my room, or
/roomat the inn. You go up to a quiet room of your own: nobody outside sees in or walks in, and its doors stay locked - the only way out is to leave it. A real room is a real door of the inn, always locked: it opens as you, or a guest you let in, come up to it. - Inside
The action wheel > My room: invite someone, put a guest out, open the room's chest, sleep, leave.
/sleepis free in your room, as in a house of yours. Leave by the action wheel > My room > Leave the room, or/leaveroom: you are back downstairs before the innkeeper. A disconnection in the room wakes you at the inn. - Guests
In your room, invite anyone (
/roominvite playeror the wheel): they accept at the inn, before the innkeeper (/roomaccept), and come up. Anyone at the inn may also ask to come into a room whose renter is in (the innkeeper's window > a taken door > Ask to come in): you let them in or refuse./roomkick playershows a guest out; when you leave, your guests leave with you. Guests never open your chest. - The chest
Your room keeps your things: up to 30 kinds of item and 100 loads of your sack's goods. Open it inside the room (the action wheel > My room, or
/roomchest): your pack beside it, drag between them. Your room is listed in F2 > My belongings > Houses, with its rent and the way there. - The rent
Paid each week to the innkeeper of its inn (his window > Pay a week), like an upkeep:
/upkeep, F2 and the account site list it, the reminders come, an Early Founder's standing order pays it. A week late, the room is lost.
| Who gets the coin | The deposit and the rent go to the tavern's till, less the town's toll. The tavern's owner sets the weekly price of its rooms (/roomprice, or the innkeeper's window) between half and twice the usual; a real room's follows. A rented room keeps the price it was rented at. |
| Giving it up | The innkeeper's window > Give up the room, or /giveuproom confirm. Nothing is paid back. |
| What is left | A room lost or given up keeps its things at the innkeeper for a week: talk to him > Rooms > Take them back. After that they are gone. |
| A fall in the room | You wake at the infirmary nearest the inn. |
